Hello,
I have a 4.0 GPA with a double major in Mathematics and Financial Economics. I recently took the GMAT exam, and scored a 690 (88th percentile, 47 Quant, 38 Verbal). I go to a small liberal arts college in West Virginia.
I am looking to apply to Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkely, Rochester, Boston University, and Vanderbilt University. I may also apply to MIT, but I am viewing that as a long shot. Carnegie Mellon is among the top of my choices.
I am not sure as to whether or not I should retake the GMAT. The first time I prepared, I used the Princeton Review book and the official GMAT book. I feel that studying a book such as Kaplan Advanced would be beneficial. My raw verbal score was also about 2-4 points lower than it was when I practiced. I ran out of time when I took the GMAT on my math section, and rushed through 3 or 4 of the last questions.
Should I retake the GMAT? What are my chances of getting into schools like Carnegie Mellon?
