Re: Please Evaluate my Profile (Fall 2011 Applicant) [#permalink]
Hey all - just wanted to add my official GMAT score to my profile and see if I can get any feedback :-D

Verbal: 44 (97%), Quant: 50 (93%), Total: 770 (99%), AWA: 4.5 (37%)

I'm pretty happy about my total score (although I thought I would do better on Quant); however, my AWA score is not that impressive.

I've also decided on which schools to apply to:

First Round:
- Chicago
- MIT
- NYU
- Carnegie Mellon MSCF

Second Round:
- Harvard
- Wharton
- Stanford
- Northwestern
- Berkeley
- Dartmouth
- Columbia
- Yale
- Michigan
- Cornell

As far as my work goes ... I mostly manage my own tasks but primarily my tasks involve providing a portfolio manager with analysis and recommendations. I also assist senior investment analysts by developing quantitative tools to assist them in their analysis, e.g. an Excel VBA implementation of a third-party API (Intex) for ad-hoc cashflow analysis of securities available for sale in the marketplace.

I forgot to add that I have passed Level III of the CFA exam and I'm awaiting my charter. Not sure how much of a difference this makes to an application.

Thanks for your advice.

I just visited some schools and I think I can comfortably narrow down the list of schools.

First Round:
- Chicago
- MIT
- NYU
[strike]- Carnegie Mellon MSCF[/strike]

Second Round:
- Harvard
- Wharton
- Stanford
[strike]- Northwestern[/strike]
- Berkeley
[strike]- Dartmouth[/strike]
- Columbia
[strike]- Yale[/strike]
[strike]- Michigan[/strike]
[strike]- Cornell[/strike]

That leaves me with 3 in Round 1 and 5 in Round 2. I'm sure I'll narrow down Round 2 and I do my visits there.
