Please review my profile. I think I have more questions about whether an MBA is right for me.

Latin/Asian Male~SF Bay Area~Age - 34 years old

• Bachelor of Science in Biology 2000 GPA 3.4
• Doctorate of Physical Therapy 2005 GPA 3.4

Work Experience: 7 years total-good career progression to become a clinic director within 1 year and regional with 5 years
• 1 year as staff physical therapist-treated patients 100% of the time
• 4 years as a clinic director-helped manage a center of 20 employees
• 2 years as a regional director of rehab-helping manage 7 medical centers in the SF bay area and oversee >120 employees
This is my current position which I really enjoy. The job involves all aspects of management. The company I work for was recently purchased by a fortune 100 company so there are many changes occurring including lots of remodels, acquisitions and footprint changes

GMAT : Haven’t taken yet but will aim for 650-750 (like most)

Extracurricular :
Board certified orthopedic specialist in physical therapy
A good level of community work
Great reviews from clients and patients
Fluent in Spanish
Adventure racer (think eco challenge), guitar/music

I am looking for an MBA in general management/operations/consulting.

I am currently thinking about applying to UC Berkeley’s part time program mostly due to the amount of loans I already owe and because of the loss of wages if I were to go full time.

Continue to move up the health care management ladder
Move into operations in biotech/pharm
Health care/management consulting

My primary reasons for considering an MBA are:
I really enjoy my job right now, more so than being a “physical therapist” where I treat patients 100% of the time. I view myself as a physical therapist in a management role not necessarily a health care manager. I know this may not be the case but on paper that’s what it may come across. Why this is relevant and why it concerns me, is that I would like to continue moving up the health care ladder or in the near future transition into biotech of pharm. Consulting is also an area I would like to get into eventually. I am concerned that my resume/education background may hold me back.

My questions are:
1) Do I even need the degree or can I supplement my resume with other leadership/management courses/extracurriculars? Sometimes I think my age prohibits me from gaining the full benefit of an MBA at this stage of my career. I have heard from others that I do not need the degree so would an MBA help me?
2) Does it even make sense going back to school given the amount of loans I already owe-think high 
3) If I do go back to school, full time or part time?
4) Worst case scenario -If I wanted to transition into a different but related industry (biotech/pharm) should I just work at getting my foot into the door and work my way up again?

Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it. This whole topic of whether I should even get an MBA is weighing on me.
