Your GPA is very strong, and you're at a good point in your career to be applying to business school. Keep up the good work on the job!
The first thing I recommend is retaking your GMAT. 700 is good, and you have a well-balanced score, but if you want to apply to any top 25 schools in the US (and even for ISB which has gotten quite competitive), you really need a score above 700. So I would give that another shot, if possible.
Second thing I would do is increase your extracurricular involvement -- you were involved on campus and that's great, but I would like to see you more involved in current activities, outside of the office. It's also not just about putting in a few volunteer hours a week, schools value leadership roles and also when you demonstrate real passion for a cause or an activity.
Finally, I agree there are many transferable skills to consulting. It can be tough for applicants with a technical background to switch immediately to strategy consulting, so you might want to consider a mid-term step in tech or operations consulting, before moving on to strategy. That's worth researching more as you finalize your list of schools and find out what career opportunities they have.

Extra curricular activities:
1) During college, I was the member of the core group, which successfully managed to pull the sponsors for our college Annual Fest. Although, it sounds pretty odd, our college did not have any
initiatives for fests etc. until we pitched in and showed the management that why an "Off-week" is required.
2) Member of the college and school soccer teams. Won a few tournaments.
3) College Representative of the Training and Placement Office. Interacted with company representatives during recruitments.
4) School representative for inter-school fests.
5) Member of my company's community club.
Career Goals - I had initially joined the company to gain experience to get into a proper MBA/MS(management) program abroad. And now I think it is time to work towards that. I have not fixed on any particular destination as such but i am slightly biased towards US b-schools and ISB. I found management/strategy counsulting specialisation somewhat to my liking after reading about it. I'd definitely like to make a transition from my current role in a service based industry into a full-fledged consulting/strategy role. I haven't decided on the industry, but I see myself involved in a consultant role. I agree that during the course of one's MBA, the focus can shift, but if everything goes as per the plan, this is where I see myself after 5 years. We, as IT professionals, definitely do informal consulting, but our clients always takes it with a pinch of salt. This is one restriction I want to break.
