Question: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Face-to-face
communication is better than other types of communication, such as
letters, email, or telephone calls. Use specific reasons and details to
Answer: A face to face communication is always better than other means of written or telephonic communications. A face to face communication is a very important means of interaction and communication. Importance of face to face communication is evident from the fact that there were so many inventions which enabled face to face communication over distance such as video conferencing. There are several reasons which work in favor of a face to face communication.

First of many such reasons is that human being tends to believe what they see more than any other sensory experiences. A face to face communication helps us to develop a greater sense of trust on what’s being communicated. When we have to convey something very important or critical we prefer to visit have a dialogue in person. Important conversations like sharing critical information or an important discussion at office are preferably done in person. For example in most of the law suits the witness has to be physically present to make a statement. This shows in matter of extreme importance a face to face communication is a must.

Second reason which works in favor of face to face communication is the amount of non verbal communication which follows in the conversation. During a face to face interview the interviewer is able to judge the candidate on lot more aspects like personality, outlook, body language which are impossible to follow on a written or telephonic assessment. A face to face communication brings with lot more communication than just the usual audible conversation.

Thirdly when in a face to face to communication we tend to see other person’s reaction instantly. Most of the discussions are usually done in person so that we get to see the reaction over the matter at same instant. In these discussions one tends to reach at discussions in very less time. Most of the government decisions are done during meetings where all parties are present in person. Most of such discussions if not done in person meetings might take too much of time.

Considering these points, in my opinion a face to face communication is always better than other means of communication.
