I have been admitted to Kellogg MMM and Booth and would appreciate opinions/advice on the relative strengths and weaknesses of these program for healthcare/health-tech and entrepreneurship.
From my understanding, Kellogg is a stronger program for healthcare and tech but Booth's Polsky center is a big plus for entrepreneurship.
I have also heard that the culture of the two program is pretty different. It would be great if someone could provide details of their experience about what this means with regards to day-to-day life as a student in the program.

It’s really hard to screw up with this good of a choice

The Polski Center does provide help and good opportunities but there’s a competition obviously. You’ll be competing with a number of your classmates for financing or talent or attention. Did you have some business plan competitions which can definitely sharpen your skills and help you understand how VC thinks and how they invest their money. If you’re planning to start your own venture, it is very very helpful. At the same time, if you’re not very serious and you’re kind of poking around, you won’t get far.

Kellogg is really good for product management. It’s one of the best schools for product management in general but tech shines in particular.

I am unsure of what your priorities are here:

If it’s culture - then it would heavily depend on the environment you thrive in. I have found the Kellogg culture to be warm and “nice” where people are obviously competitive but extremely invested in who you are as well as who you want to grow into. Overall, as an international in the US for the first time, I was overwhelmed but found all the help and friendships I needed to enjoy my time here. I cannot speak to Booth’s culture but if I were honest, each business school moulds you into its archetype personality and therefore, you shouldn’t find any glaring difficulties.

If career path is your priority- then you have to zoom in and focus more. Do you want to start your own business or work for an MNC? Do you want to explore entrepreneurship or dive into it full on (do you even have a business idea at this point)? Kellogg has strengthened its healthcare presence with a huge new grant that came in the form of scholarship this year. For entrepreneurs, NU Garage is the one place people test their ideas at and get funding (coincidentally just this week I got involved with the Garage too). The MMM program takes classes with the 2Y program so there’s not a ton of distinction afaik.

At this point, I would be very specific about what I want out of my career straight out of bschool and choose accordingly. Unless you have a scholarship from either school - both Kellogg and Booth are good enough. However, if healthcare is your passion, I’d say choose Kellogg.
