I've been accepted to McCombs' evening program in Austin and Tepper's online hybrid program (online classes, meet every 6 weeks, option to go FT after first year online). McCombs is about 10k cheaper not including the travel to Pittsburgh every 6 weeks. I currently have 2 years of work experience as a Software Engineer. My post mba goal is Tech product management. I also want to explore Corporate Strategy and Consulting option and to truly do this I feel I should go full time to be involved in clubs and have an internship. If I were to apply full time next cycle I would retake the GMAT and I think I would score 700-720.

McCombs' PT
Pros
+Location
+Good tech placement
+Graduate without debt
+Micro consulting projects available throughout duration of program

Cons
-Set curriculum, no electives
-Limited access to full time clubs
-Travel every 6 weeks

Tepper PT
Pros
+Awesome curriculum, analytics based
+Option to go FT after a year
+Good tech placement
Cons
-Online courses for at least a year
-Location
-Almost no access to full time clubs

Apply FT next cycle
(Tepper, McCombs, Ross, Fuqua, Darden? )

Pros
+Better networking than PT
+Access to clubs
+Internship
+Apply to higher ranked programs
+More scholarship opportunities than PT

Cons
- ~200k lost salary
-Most likely lots of debt
-At least one more year as software engineer (not horrible but I don't love it)
-No employer tuition assistance

If you are confident to get 700+ GMAT score, I suggest you go with Full Time programme rather than Evening programme. FT programme always has a high impact in your profile.

Congrats on your admit. However, considering your experience and age(hope you would be below 30), it is better to join in the Full-time program.

Welcome to GMAT Club bigred11!

You are on you young side of things. 2 Years is usually the minimum. With Economy this strong, you can afford to wait and figure out what you want to do. It's not like you will get laid off or something.

So, it comes down to your resume and experience. Think about recruiters - will they see your resume and see a stronger one compared to someone who has 6 years of work experience potentially who is applying for the same role from McCombs FT program? would you be able to outdo them in competing for the job?

FT is a more transformation experience since PT is more of a on-the-job training and on-the-job recruiting. You are not expected to recruit, do treks, or network as a part of the MBA. FT program does entail that but again, I feel you would benefit from beefing up your resume somewhat more to make yourself more competitive, and make sure you have a brandname on your resume (even if it is a less interesting role or less pay). Working for the likes of PayPal, Ebay, Microsoft, Amazon, FB, Google, etc is a huge boost to your recruitability for an internship and for the final offer.
