As n is a positive integer, 5n would be a multiple of 5 and unit digit will always be either 5 or 0

Now consider the possible scenarios

When the unit digit of 5n is 5,

56 - x5 = y1 (x and y can be anything here, we are just concerned with unit digit)
x5 - 56 = y9

When the unit digit of 5n is 0,

56 - x0 = y6
x0 - 56 = y4

With both these conditions we have only four possibles values of unit digit, that is 1, 9, 6, and 4.

In the given options only 9 satisfy this, hence the answer.

looking for difference of 1 makes it easier.

5n will end with either 0 or 5
|56-5*10| =|56-50|=6
|56-5*9|=|56-45|=11

|56-5*9| = |56-45| = 11
|56-5*10| = 6
|56-5*11| = 1
|56-5*12| = 4
|56-5*13| = 9
