JimGMAT has not changed in 10+years so you will be fine with a 2022 book which came out in 2021 and is an exact reprint of 2021 book that came out in 2020.

But getting just official guide is not enough. It’s simply a collection of questions but it doesn’t actually teach you how to approach those questions and how to tackle them. You need some guide books or you’ll have to use a course to actually learn some thing.

The Focus Edition prep should become available in late Q2 2023 in case you were thinking of that version.

The 2022 Official Guide is fine for preparing for both the current GMAT and the GMAT Focus Edition because the questions on the two tests are the same, with the exception of some types of questions that simply won't appear on the Focus Edition.

However, the Official Guide is not a complete prep resource. For details on the potential role and value of the Official Guide in your preparation, see this post.
