Just got the offer for MSc Finance! See you in fall!

Hello guys, just received an email from SSE about my application to the Msc Business&Management.

They say "We would like to inform you that your application has not yet been selected for admissions at this point in time. We will assess it again during the second round of admissions in January 2017. Please expect a final decision from us in the middle of March 2017"

Can you please give me an honest review about my profile?

I think it's because of your GPA and your GRE. It doesn't mean that you won't be admitted eventually. They just need to compare you with other applicants.

Your GPA is fair, but not excellent. Your GRE is below last year's average. Based on these two points, I understand why they didn't accept you in the first round. You still have the chance in the second round.
I also read your motivation letter. It seems that you don't give an adequate explanation of your motivation and reasons. Instead, you write too much about your merits, which can be shown in your CV.

I received an offer for SSE MSc Finance. I received an email intimating acceptance to MSc Finance program. But, the status of application in online application system is unchanged and is yet displaying"Submitted". Has any of the admitted candidates checked their online application account and status of their applications in it? Kindly provide information about current status of your application as displayed in online application system.

Hello. I got rejected from the Bus and Manag program. I am wondering if I should re take the GRE and try to get a higher score, maybe that will make the difference.

I wanted to ask: did any of you who were admitted attach recommendation letters to your applications?

I didn't submit reference as it's not necessary for SSE.

Mine is still "submitted". Don't worry.

Not accepted in the first round doesn't mean you are rejected. You still have a chance in the second round.
Your GRE is only a bit lower than last year's average, so I think it's okay. But if you don't have high GPA and outstanding internship/extracurricular experiences, I would recommend you to retake it.
The deadline is less than one month away. You probably need to work very hard to make a breakthrough in your GRE. At the same time, apply for other schools as Plan B.

Hi everyone,

I plan to apply to MSc in Finance at SSE next year. I have still not finished my university degree, and I have not not started preparing the GMAT.

[*]I am in my last year at university, studying International Business Economicst at University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). My GPA is not high, I expect it to be around 7.2/10.
[*]Let's assume I can reach a GMAT score of 680.
[*]Last year, I spent 6 months in London, taking an exchange program.
[*]My work experience is limited to some small companies, not specifically related to finance. I also have been working in a students' organization.

With this information, and based on your experience, do you think I have any hances to be accepted at SSE?
