[quote="ADC4"]Congrats!!! I see you chose the spot on Monday; good luck with your interview!
My fiancé thinks I shouldn't interview if I've made up my mind on Stanford cz someone else could make better use of this chance to interview. But I haven't made up my mind fully yet. What do you suggest?
Posted from my mobile device Have you 100% made up your mind on Stanford?
Stanford was my first program of choice when I didn't even know about LGO
Stanford:
Pros:
-Can stay in my city
-Can continue my job part time and get funding from employer
-Or can do a TAship and it's basically free
-Offered me early hence truly chose me
-Full MBA (not limited to operations, though I'd still do ops only)
Cons:
-3 years vs 2 years of LGO
-MBA not so cohesive with the MS
MIT:
Pros:
-2 years
-Get away from Cali for a while
-Closer to family
-Well coordinated dual degree
Cons:
-Offered to interview me as a secondary option.
-TAships are hard as 8 credits each term vs 5 at Stanford hence will cost a bit.
-GSB is much more prestigious than Sloan while engineering schools are on par.
PS: deposit was 3500$ non refundable. I even filled out the background check form and am going to attend the meet and greet in February.
PPS: I am not too happy that MIT didn't choose me at first.

I would say that if you're fairly certain that you'll be attending Stanford then the generous thing to do would be to let someone else have a shot at LGO. However, if there's a reasonable chance you'd accept an MIT admissions offer if one was extended to you then go ahead and interview.
