Quick comparison of Interview invites for Yale SOM
Interesting. Obviously a pretty small N, but I find the shift in applicants interesting. Compared to last cycle, more applied in R1 and fewer in R2, but with a fairly similar number of applicants overall (presumably, some members add their info late).
I wonder if folks who would have been R2 applicants instead applied in R1, in response to SOM's rise.
For us R2 applicants who were invited to interview, the lower R2 Invited to Interview number is heartening. It suggests that if there was a shift to R1, and a corresponding increase in acceptances, that SOM compensated by inviting fewer applicants in R2. Hopefully, that means we still have the 60% chance of admission that invites have historically had.
Anyway, how's that for reading tea leaves?
