Ladies and gents,
How are you preparing for your interviews? I am watching videos on SBS in their Youtube page, reading their MBA brochure and of course my application and practising sample questions, along with checking out past interview reports. However, it sounds like SBS does not have a standard interview format and that it kind of depends on who is interviewing. Any tips on how to best prepare?
Thanks and good luck to you all!
Three key objectives of the SBS interview process are to understand whether you are ready for an MBA, whether you are committed to this particular business school, and whether you know where you will go in life with this MBA. It goes without saying that nobody will hold you accountable in a year from now if your plans do indeed change. The interviewer is simply trying to better understand whether you have identified your strengths and weaknesses and whether you have the ability to contribute in classroom discussions.
Keeping these points in mind, be prepared to answer the classic questions: Why MBA? Why now? Why Oxford? Additionally, be prepared to talk about key learnings from at least one major achievement and one major setback in your career. My interview included these classic questions and the interviewer tried everything they could to make me feel comfortable with the interview process.
edit: Also remember to smile. And speak with confidence. Good luck!
