Hello all!
I come from the typical IT male with 5 years exp.

I am planning to apply for Round 1 as well. I know the target is pretty tight. But will give it a try!
Have to improve by almost 130 points to get to 700 from my first GMAT last year!

Any insights on the essays? How long would they take to formulate?

Hey there,

It is good that you know your target well. At this point I would say focus on preparing for GMAT and get your best score. If that means that you may have to apply in R2 than so be it. Still better than a hasty application.

Having said that if you have clarity in your post MBA goals, and have few success stories that can make a interesting narration I would say 1 month should be fine. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for your insights! Trying to gain momentum into my studies after 6 month long break!
Thought of joining a local GMAT program but considered against it as it would result in a lot of time being wasted. Banking on the resources available online.
Your thoughts on it?

Yeah online gives you much more control to pace accordingly; plus saves a lot of time. You can try e-gmat if you haven't already. Their verbal is good. I used its quant and verbal and liked it. They usually give you access to some of its videos at no cost so you can try and decide.
