What would be the probability that randomly choosing four states from the top 7 murder states would actually be the top 4 states for murders in exact correct decreasing order CA TX PA NY

1/(7*6*5*4) = 1/840

Ways to pick 4 states = 7*6*5*4*
Only one of these will be in increasing order or in decreasing order.
Probability to pick this = 1/(7*6*5*4*)

Clearly, order matters here (since you want the states in exact correct decreasing order)

Total Number of ways to pick four states out of 7 = P(7,4)

Only one of these represents the correct order (CA TX PA NY).

So, probability = 1/P(7,4)
