Hi,
I was wondering if you could evaluate my profile pls.
GMAT: 1st take 680 Q44 V38, 2nd take 750 Q50 V41. #1 Public grad. 2 Yrs Analyst at DOJ Antitrust Division, then 4.5 yrs as oil trader in the pit.
Negatives: 1) GPA: transferred after first 2 yrs from comm. college with 3.92 but then only 2.9 the next 2 years, extenuating circumstances as parent sickness deteriorated. 2) got laid off from job around year ago--despite great record during my time there--b/c industry profitability plummeted; company close to shutting down, despite yrs of success. studied hard after getting laid off building models, etc. and put together business plans for diff. trading approach and got investors but not enough, so as of now unemployed/trying to raise funds. 3) did not contemplate bschool as a serious option until dec. of 2012. since i had to wait 1 month after 1st take, missed most R2 deadlines and application to Chicago (my only app so far) was a bit haphazard and dinged.
what are my chances for wharton/sloan/columbia in r3 and overall? is there any way I can improve my profile?
