Hey
Rishav7,
Thanks for sharing your profile.
First, I would like to congratulate you on backing a stellar 750 in your GMAT. That’s quite exceptional, so kudos on that! I feel your grades are a very accurate indication of your success in various levels of your academic journey. Graduating from renowned institutions like Shri Ram College of commerce will in itself add value to your profile. Being Level 2 CFA will add additional points and also help your profile stand out.
On the work front, your work experience, including international exposure, is essential for proving to AdComs that you have a global outlook. You must demonstrate strong impact and leadership in your application. Closing big deals ($50 mn) at a young age displays your dedication toward work and should be used strategically. I see career progression from roles of Financial Analyst<Investment Banking Analyst<Senior Investment Manager. Having big brands like Tata AIG and KPO will also provide your profile an additional boost. Schools like CBS and Wharton look for intellect, curiosity, and dynamism in an applicant.
Coming to your ECs, you can definitely talk about the research paper you presented in your college to show your innovative side. However, adding some relevant community and volunteering work (your association with NGOs) and a bit more about your CSR programs will help you build great stories to the AdComs. For instance, I suggest you go through our article on
Significance of ECAs for MBA Application, to understand the importance of drafting exemplary ECAs essays!
Your post-MBA goal of PE appears rather general; you must be more specific about your short- and long-term goals and indicate how the school will assist you in achieving them. As you are interested in Private equity, you may want to read an article on
Private Equity after MBA. This article will discuss the background and factors necessary to ace your admission in private equity MBA programs. We will also share important facts about business schools offering these programs.
Overall, your profile appears solid and stands a strong chance at Booth, NYU and Columbia. However, you will need to go into more detail, connect the dots with your previous work experience, and explain how an MBA from a specific school will help you fill gaps in your profile and achieve your goals. To convey a strong narrative, try to bring the right motivations for these goals. Hence, If you'd like, we are happy to connect you with our
Profile Experts (who are alums and students of top B-Schools) who will discuss your profile at length in a 30-45 minutes call and provide you with feedback based on your aspirations, goals and shortlist schools for you. Feel free to schedule a call with them
here for in-depth profile evaluation (and some networking on the side!)
Cheers!
