Hi shreyrmehta,

Your work experience is decent and your GMAT Score is really impressive. As per your profile I would suggest that you have a fair chances of getting admission in the B-School selected by you.

You are in perfect stage of your career and around 4-5 years of work experience is what most B-Schools look for.

However you would need to cleverly prepare yourself for questions like why you are applying for MBA at this stage of your life, your rationale behind applying for a specific B-school, so on and so forth.

The next step for you is to focus more on your application essays & recommendations for these Business Schools.

Hence it would be highly advisable to seek assistance from professional consultants for guidance on preparing a good letters of recommendations and get your essays/scholarship essays evaluated before sending it out along with your application.

Also if you happen to be based in Mumbai you can attend a MBA workshop by alumnus of ISB along with alumnus of various top global B-Schools during the dates mentioned in this links

Feel free to post any other query or concern that you might have.

Hi Shreyrmehta,
You have a great GMAT score. Your profile is really impressive with work experience encompassing research, consulting and entrepreneurship. You should be able get in the B-Schools you are targeting.
But, you would need to work on your application essay. It would require you to introspect and build your story. The admission team need to judge how the candidate views himself, his personal values and competencies.

Best of Luck

Your profile is quite strong, with a great gpa and gmat foundation, and some interesting/global work experience (with a promotion at Parthenon) and capped off by work at the family firm. Your family's tourism enterprise and your future goals of expansion will, in my opinion, make for some very attractive essays. Well done. Folks will love to read about tigers and your passion for that cause.

Since you are 25, reach high, as you can always re-apply in a few years if your run this season does not work out. But I would encourage you to look at some other great schools in the top 12 or so. Getting into Stanford/HBS and the other top 5 schools is not easy, and there are some other great programs out there. My net advice to you is to allow yourself a better chance by also applying to schools like Booth, Columbia, LBS... Some folks only apply to the very top and when they fall short, they are left with no solid option for the fall.

Good Luck!
