Please see my profile below and kindly advise on my likelihood of admission into my desired programs, as well as key areas I need to improve on (most important parts of my app)

Location: Greater China
Undergrad: North America - Honors degree Cum GPA extremely average. Last 2 years were significantly better (GPA > 3.5)
Work Experience: Approx. 3 years working at a boutique investment banking firm doing M&A
Extra Curriculars: Various sports/social clubs in University. Also worked/still working for a charity (approx. 2 years)
Misc: CFA Level 1 completed
GMAT: Currently preparing - aiming for 700+ (or at least high 600s)

Desired Programs
Degree: Master of Finance
Location: Mostly thinking in the UK although open to additional suggestions that suit
Colleges: Imperial, LBS, LSE, Oxbridge

Goal: Investment banking in any of the bulge brackets or international IB houses

Also, for LSE, they explicitly state they need two academic references, but is this a MUST, or can it instead be one professional + one academic?

Thank you for your posting.

Based on the information you present, with a strong application (essay, recommendations, interview, etc.), you would be a strong candidate at all your target schools. I emphasize that although you seem to have done everything well thus far, you have to make sure you close out this process with your application.

As for your recommendation, if they require two academic references then you have to follow their instructions. I know that academic references become more difficult the longer you have been out of school -- but when a school specifically states this as a requirement, this is exactly what they want.
