Hello Prashant,
Your achievements and undergrad scores are good. However, we are missing some information here- what is your GMAT ( I guess you have not taken it, but think of a 740+ to check mark this beastly box). Also, why do you want to do an MBA? what are your post MBA goals and is there any specific reason you are thinking about Tuck?

Hi MBADecoder,
1. I am about to take GMAT in January 2019 and aiming nothing less than 740-750.

2. Post MBA Goals

Long term : To startup a financial service company for the professionals and skilled workers belonging to the high risk industries.

3. Why Tuck : Because of it’s small class size, location, strong alumni bond, programs like onsite global consulting and good percentage of placements in financial services.

Hello snigger2793

The quantitative aspects of your profile seem solid. Work ex, past academic scores, GMAT, extracurricular all check the box.
The key for you here is execution of your application and showcasing the 'qualitative' side as well.
On the work front- talk more about your career progression and achievements.
In extracurricular focus on highlighting your contribution and impact in these activities.
Lastly, express your interest in the school and how an MBA will help you achieve your career goals.
If you can tie in these well, you have a decent shot.

Hello ApocalyptoRishi

The overall outline of the profile seems decent.
Different industry (compared to most Indian applicants), international exposure could potentially help. Also highlight the career progression and achievements at work.
Extracurricular activities seem interesting too, but more than a laundry list focus more on impact and contribution here.
The GMAT score, though decent hovers at just about the average score for Tuck. Considering the Indian background, it may not be very high. That means you should show a higher spike in other areas of your profile (namely work ex, extracurricular, clarity of career goals and how they fit into the long term vision of your career)

Indian Male, 29 years
UG: Bachelor of Fashion Technology (specialisation in Fashion & Apparel Production) - National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi (consistently ranks top in Asia among its Peer colleges)
GPA: 6.9/10, among the top 25% of the batch (4 as per mba.com conversion table)
PG: MA in HRM with CGPA 6.5/10 (Among top Universities for graduate studies in India)
GMAT: 720 (Q49, V39)

Additional Coursework:
- Business Analytics Specialisation (4courses + 1 capstone project), Wharton Online
- Business Stats with R, Duke University online
- Product Management Foundation - Darden University online

Work Experience: 4 years
Industry: Indian Conglomerate -Aditya Birla Group (1.5 years, worked in HR & Project Management as part of management rotation program across Fashion Retail and Manufacturing) + Entrepreneurship (2.5 years)
*My graduate rotation experience Aditya Birla was sort of internal consultancy experience as each rotation would start with a problem statement for a given sector/business unit, and involve problem diagnosis, creating and deploying solutions. While each rotation (or project) differed in complexity and area of concern, they all were strategic and of high impact in nature. Also got an opportunity to work on a global assignment in US.
*Entrepreneurship: I always had entrepreneurial bug, so when an opportunity to join the startup in space of fashion accessories came up (as Co-founder) 2 years ago, I immediately made the jump. For the last two years, I have dabbled across operations and marketing. Managed launch of 3 product categories, reworked marketing strategy to increase reach by 3.5X, took care of inventory planning and vendor management beside taking care of talent management. It has been a great learning curve until now, however, at times I found myself lacking in knowledge/expertise in taking things forward.

Extra-curricular Activities:
- Adventure Sports, have done multiple treks, hope to conquer the Himalayas someday.
- Huge comics nerd, and have been involved in comics strip design in college days
- Actively participated in sports, winning few medals at the university level.
- Was part of various clubs like the Social and Editorial club in leadership roles.

Community Service:
- Have been involved in multiple NGOs throughout my career in space of education. Presently involved (as an advisor) with a leading organization working to improve livelihood access to the young marginalised girls.

Post MBA Goals: Looking to get into strategy consultancy/Technology (Product) Firm/Consumer Tech side of Retail
Long-Term vision: I'm passionate about tech, and want to build a business at the intersection of fashion and technology.

Thanks in Advance

I'm also targetting Haas and MIT. Should I target other colleges as well? (to be on the safer side), thinking about giving GMAT, 740/750 seems possible.

Hi, and thanks for writing! Your work experience is very intriguing, and you've got solid extracurricular involvement. I think that retaking the GMAT for 740+ is a good idea, given how competitive the admissions process is for Indian applicants. Also, you'll want to make a very strong case for why Tuck is the right program for you based on its culture and resources. If you do so, the program should be within reach. Best of luck!

Hi, and thanks for writing! Looks like you have solid work experience and great extracurricular involvement. To offset a lower GPA, I recommend taking the GMAT again - passing another CFA level also will show your ability to handle the rigors of a top MBA program. You'll also want to get very strong recommendations that attest to your performance, potential, growth, and character. Tuck is very big on cultural fit, so you'll also want to thoroughly research the program so that you can communicate this fit in your application and interview.

Hope this helps a bit! Do let me know of any specific questions.

Hello daivat21buch

While your work ex, GPA, achievements, extracurricular and career goals all seem to have good potential (will highly depend on what stories you select from this bullet list and how you choose to present them in the essays), the GMAT is quite low considering your Indian Male Engineer background and Round 2.
Plus not sure how far you have progressed on the application, if you are just starting then you may not have enough time to do the application justice- another thing to think about. If that is the case, I would recommend a GMAT retake and applying next year.
