Hi
Please find below my profile in short

GMAT: 3 Attempts
Best : 2nd Attempt 670 (2015)
Last attempt: 610 (2015)

Academics:
10th State Board - India -81.2%
Diploma: EnTc - India - 83.4%
B.E- Pune University - 61.5%

Work experience
5 years in Dec'17
Currently working as an IT Process Consultant with Atos
Worked for 4 years with Cognizant with 2 years as Technical Lead and served various life sciences and BFS clients.
Have always been amongst the top performers and can get recommendations from the ex clients as well.

Apart from Academics
-State level Table tennis
-Group captain in school
-Cultural head in B.E.

Now, i would like to know if i am considering to apply for top colleges for MBA in india as well as US or Canada, would my profile stand a chance in the current structure?

Or should i take a chance of retaking my GMAT? It would be my 4th attempt and a low score can ruin my chances. Though i am preparing for the GMAT since a month and would be ready for a take in September, would it be advisable is what i would want to understand.

Hi Harsh,

I can understand your dilemma. You've invested a lot of time and money in to GMAT already. If you feel you can score better (mock tests) then who would recommend you not to take it again. If you score less than 670 you can always cancel your scores. However, you are getting late if you want to apply in R1. There are a lot of good schools which you can target with a 670 gmat score. You can obviously check out the average GMAT score on any MBA rankings and make a preliminary list. Then I request you to dig deeper into each school's class profile, employment report and curriculum. See if that school is a good fit and can help you get your dream job. Hope this helps.

Negatives:
1) Indian IT profile with no differentiation at all - Toughest pool.
2) GMAT is below par for the profile.
3) Undergrad brand - Unknown.

My assessment: Don't look at North America. With a Tier-2 or Tier 3 school MBA, Current Scenario makes the Post MBA Job Scenario extremely difficult for international applicants in US.
Look at AsiaPacific schools such as HKUST, NUS and ISB. Your GMAT score will more than suffice.

Hi harsh1887,

At 670, it’ll be hard to make it to most good U.S. In Canada, your score will be competitive at many schools. However, Canadian schools have become more competitive since the last admissions cycle as they’re attracting more and more international applicants. If you can improve your score, I would say take a shot as applicants from your applicant pool apply with really high scores. A higher score will improve your odds even at schools where you’re at or above par.
