Hello Steven, thanks for your question.
First, as you know, the Round 3 can be a crapshoot. Your strength as an applicant is still critical, but the composition of the class at those programs becomes increasingly important. The admissions committees will be trying to round out their classes.
That said, I think your competitiveness will rest on two things:
• The quality of your leadership experience in and out of work. Can you draw upon “moments” when you truly led: influenced individuals and organizations, drove results, took initiative? Can you make your feats as an industrial engineer comprehensible in business terms?
• In terms of your post-MBA goals, paint a picture that cohesively ties together your past, present, and future. Demonstrate to the admissions committees that your desired career path necessitates an MBA.
Your iOS app experience sounds interesting as an extracurricular. And, remember: Extracurricular activities need not be limited to official community service. You might also speak to your passions and interests as vehicles through which you have done good for the world.
Best of luck,
Brian
