Hi I am CFA Level 2 candidate (appeared in June 2010) working for Bank of America from Mumbai, India for the past 2 years in the IT Department. I have a keen interest in the field of finance and hence keep a track of latest trends in the financial industry. I want to switch my career from IT to finance and I think the Mfin Program from LBS looks best to me.
My Details are follows:
UnderGrad : GPA 6.5/10
B.tech in IT from V.J.T.I, Mumbai
Passed CFA Level 1 in December 2009. Currently a CFA Level 2 candidate.
Have worked on the Cash Equity and Equity Derivatives applications which involved interaction with Traders in NY.
Expected to take GMAT next month : 700/800 (assumption).
Undergone various trainings in the Capital markets and Investment Banking on job.
Have given numerous trainings to co-workers on Fixed Income, Equity Trade cycle (30-35 attendees).
Primary interests are Corporate Finance, Fixed Income, Equity etc.
I can get a recommendation from my Manager`s manager and a more senior guy from work.
Actively working with an NGO which help poor kids on how to read/write for the last 3 years.
Given all this parameters(GMAT score is assumed), do I stand a chance for the MFin at LBS, if not what would I need to do in order to improve my chances of getting an admit. Also if someone could name a few b-schools which have MFin programs (1 year) in the US/UK which are good and I stand to get in.
Any help would highly be appreciated.
Regards,
Hoopla
