Hello :)
Pl help me evaluate my profile.

GMAT score : 730 Q50 and V38
Well IR : 8
AWA : 4 :(

So heres my back-ground:
Female, Engineer, NON-IT, Indian, 23 years old
Under grad GPA : 9.1 (scale of 10)
Overall good academic performance. (High school : 85%, Secondary school: 92%)

I am in Automobile(Commercial vehicles) sales (as Deputy Manager) since two years and would have slightly less than 3 years by matriculation.I would spend the next year in Brand management.

Leadership experience:
In college,I was part of a small team that developed and ran an in-campus enterprise (food, travel desk, laundry etc.) for a year.During which span we handled head to toe of the whole business: Managing vendors, accounting, reducing tat for all services, quality control etc.
Other small-time college event organising experiences.
Work-wise: Handled two dealer operations and sales in a metro (Bangalore)

Others: Good management electives during college.Internship at ABB for 5 months.Certified artist.Classical dancer trained for 7 years.

Preferred future career: Short term- Corporate Strategy (preferably Automobile sector) , Long Term(say 10 years post MBA) : Enterprenuership

I wish to apply for Class of 2017.
And the wishlist is long and obvious: H/S/W and CBS, Kellogg, MIT,Booth.

Where do I have strong chances given my profile? Which other "safe" schools to which I should apply?
Too young is it a disadvantage?
 Low GMAT score? Is the low IR a major cause of worry, it being the 21st percentile, I am quite shocked as I am good at writing, given my toefl score, high school english etc.

Thanks in advance!

Hi joe26219,

Thanks for your post. Congratulations on your excellent GMAT score. For your application, I recommend you read this case study of an Indian engineer who was accepted into a top MBA program. It should provide insight for your application:

In regards to your age, most MBA programs like to see at least 2 years of work experience. For your GMAT, if you believe you can improve your score by 30+ points we recommend you take the exam again, however you do have a very strong score.

One thing that is important to remember is that MBA programs are looking to cultivate future leaders, so any management/leadership experience you can point to is important. If you'd like, we have free school specific advice for the programs you are considering here:

HBS: ... ss-school/
Stanford: ... -business/
Wharton: ... n-wharton/
