Hello there!
Thanks for dropping by, and sorry for the slight delay there! (I was on the road for two weeks).
Anyhow, let's just jump straight into our business, and have a look at your profile:
PROS -
- Real international experience
- Female
- Industry is manufacturing
CONS
- Average grades
- Little leadership
- Middle of the road extra curricular activities.
And actually your GMAT is pretty good. I think your main challenge here will be in standing out. The danger for your application is that you sound a wee bit too much like others. It's great that you work as a mechanical engineer and not an IT person to differentiate yourself, but that in of itself may not be enough.
For your schools, it's hard for me to say whether you should apply to the US or not - I mean why not? You can of course do an MBA in the US and then go on to work in Asia (although in reality most who DO study in the US end up working for a few years). I think your choice of which continent to study on should depend upon where you want to work afterwards. If you don't mind working anywhere as long as you can find a good job, then keep your mind open. If on the other hand for personal reasons or whatever you want only to work in Asia, then limiting yourself to Asian schools might make sense.
I think your school list is a wee bit ambitious. ISB is probably a bit of a stretch for you, although the other two Asian schools will be a bit easier. Oxford would b somewhere between stretch and competitive, as would be Michigan and NYU. Which means that you have a bunch of competitive/stretch schools in your selection, but nothing on the safer side, so you maaaaay want to add a few more schools to your list.
Hope this helps!
Best,
JF
