Hello, First of all thank you for your help.

I want to start an Msc Finance or maybe MFE in fall 2019.

Some context about my profile:

-24 Years Old
-Undergrad in Industrial engineering-(strong emphasis in statistics, optimization and finance)
-GPA 3.7/5 (of the top University of my country).
-Internship in a local management consulting firm-not finance related.
-currently doing an Specialty in Statistics (grades 4.5/5)
-GMAT 660 Q45 V36
-TOEFL 111
-1 year working as an Entrepreneur with my own small business in the oil palm sector (developing and selling microorganisms as mechanisms to control palm plagues) I started it as business plan during my undergrad dissertation. Also working with my family’s business in oil palm sector.
-I got an award for the top score in the national undergraduate exams here in Colombia. (Everyone finishing university must take it)

I was hoping to get into a top business school for the 2019 intake: (Mfin or related)
-Manchester Business school

Do I have any chance to get into any of these programs with my current profile? should I work on something specific? any suggestion of other programs I should consider?

I would appreciate any suggestion or comment.

Hi mikellaverde,

Thank you for your post. My apologies for the delayed reply as Round 2 client work reaches fever pitch in December and January, requiring that I focus my attention and prioritize my efforts around serving clients, in turn reducing my level of activity in the Forum during peak application / deadline season. In any case, while I sometimes work with clients on Business Analytics, Masters in Management, or even MFE applications, my primary area of expertise is MBA programs. So if you're looking for deep and nuanced guidance with respect to MFE programs and admissions chances, it would be best to contact someone with deep expertise in that sector. On its face, my first reaction is that you'd want to raise your GMAT score (specifically Quant) if you're targeting elite MFE programs. A 660 GMAT with Q45 is generally below the mark for top MFE programs, which often boast 700+ GMAT averages and Q48/49/50 levels. I'd encourage you to research those averages for each of the schools you're exploring; then you can decide whether to re-take the GMAT based on that. But I think you will find that it would behoove you to elevate those scores. I wish you the best of luck!

Kind Regards,
Greg Guglielmo
