Hi Guys,

I am pretty new to this forum but have been quite encouraged by the support I have been reading within the community.

I am intending to apply for a Msc Finance in Cambridge, LSE , SSE and BI NBS (in order of preference). It would be great if I could get some useful advice on my suitability and suggestions on my application.

My Profile is as follows:

Nationality: Singaporean
Age : 32
Academic : Bsc Banking and Finance from University of London (2:1, GPA 3.49/4)
MBA from University of Manchester (Distinction), With final year project on Public policy measures to mediate Under-employment.
Working Exp: 6 years in commercial banking and 4 years in Financial controlling function in a local dredging company.
GMAT: Yet to take it. Would be good if I could get a rough target for the above schools.

Thank you and I hope to hear from you guys soon.

Cheers,
Chris Woon

I'd probably focus your applications on LSE or SSE. I think at this point a MSc might be overkill, but to each their own. Work experience is good. GPA is fine. GMAT is going to determine where you get into. LSE has a number of MSc in Finance programs. Not all of them are equally as hard to get into. Depending on where your GMAT score comes out this might be a strategy you'd want to utilize.

Thank you for your advice!

Yes I have been its overkill at this stage of my career. But I have hoping to move into acadamia or consultancy as my second phase of your career which is why I am hoping to get more depth in my quantitative skills.

I've noticed several finance courses in lse. Will try to apply for more them and focus on sse as well.

Thank you again for your feedback
