Hi,
Thanks for sharing your profile! It's quite impressive, especially on the academic front.
You've got a pretty well rounded profile: very strong academic background, great work experience, and good community experience. I do think you could benefit from additional work experience, however, you do have a chance at getting into a top program with your current profile. I'd probably suggest that given your opportunity to get a scholarship through work if you apply this year, then you should go ahead and apply this year. If you don't get in, you can apply again the following year with additional experience and a probono project under your belt. However, I'd say that in the extra year, the main thing to focus on would be to gain leadership experience - both on the job and outside of it. So, take on a leadership role at your nonprofit where you volunteer, maybe coach girls' tennis - things like that. The pro bono project will show leadership/initiative as well, but be sure to take on other responsibilities at work too (project based, client-based, recruiting, etc.)
Age in and of itself shouldn't be an issue - moreso the quality of your experience. As for application strategy - that's a big question and somewhat outside the scope of this forum. If you'd like, you can sign up for a free 30 minute phone consultation with a consultant on our team to discuss your application strategy in more detail. You may do so via our website:
