Hi there,
Thanks for posting. I would say you have a fairly strong profile for top global MBA programs. Being a female helps, to be honest, as most US MBA programs are around 30-35% female and are always interested in qualified female applicants, which from the info you've provided, it sounds like you are. And your management consulting experience differentiates you from the large pool of Indian IT/computer science and engineering applicants, and it is also less common in female applicant profiles. Given all of that, you'll likely get a closer look for admissions committees, and if you are able to put together solid, compelling essays, focusing on what you'll bring to the program that is DIFFERENT from others, and why you need this degree, why NOW and why that school is ideal, you would have a shot.
You do have fewer than average years of work experience, so it is possible that next year you're profile would be even stronger. However if you have your heart set on this year as you mentioned, you can always go for it and try next year if needed.
As for GMAT, the 710 is actually pretty strong and not a negative to your application.... I wouldn't say it's vital for you to re-take but if you are already planning to and/or prepping, go for it, as they'll take the highest score and you never know. It could also help offset the lower GPA though not sure based on what you said if that was a true 3.0 or if you are converting, which makes a difference.
Your school list seems appropriate, with Kellogg being more of a reach, followed by Haas. All top MBA programs do a good job preparing consultants, but you might look at Darden, Fuqua, Stern, and lower down the list Tepper, McCombs, Kenan-Flagler. Overall you'll want to really do some research about the program differences and which seem the best fit for YOU to narrow down that program list.
Keep us posted on q's and progress!
