Hi,
I would appreciate a lot if you could evaluate my profile
Background Info: 26 (in Nov), Male, Canadian Citizen
GMAT Score: 700(Q49 V37 IR8) - (Do I really need to retake my GMAT and apply in Round 2 or can I manage with this score?)
Education:Bachelor’s Degree: Aerospace Engineering - 3.0 GPA (3.5GPA in last 2 years)
PMP Certificate (2020)
Community Involvement -Interact with the youth of the local community by hosting weekly basketball camp to share my passion in an inclusive and healthy environment (2016- Present)
Volunteered to mentor high school students by helping them develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills at University of Toronto (2012-2018)
Interest in sports (basketball, cricket, calisthenics, hiking, and biking), electronics (built desktops, local storage servers, and simple Raspberry Pi projects), and travel (exploring new cultures and learning new languages)
Work Experience -At an aerospace company where I started as a Customer Engineer 2018-2019 but was given a promotion to Product Development Engineer where I lead a big software project (2019-2020)
After getting my PMP in 2020, I switched to a thermoplastic company where I was given a Project Leader role and am currently managing couple million dollar projects (2020-present)
I did recently found a service start-up company (June 2021). It was an opportunity I found during a wedding I attended. the company has already made $10,000 in sales in just 2 months. Another start-up I founded in 2020 is still in its development stage as it is a software product for NPOs. It has a lot more work to be done as the development phase is a bit slow during these difficult times.
Post MBA goals - Strategy/Management Consulting
Target Universities - Kellogg, Booth, Stanford, Tuck, Darden, Sloan, Wharton, Columbia, INSEAD (in order of preference)
I understand there are lots of variables in play (and luck), but with the profile I just presented above, what are my chances to get to these top schools? I have already gotten accepted to Ivey in Canada but I really want to go to a top tier US school.
I am born in India but moved out when I was 3 and grew up in Canada. Would I still be considered as part of the competitive demographic of India?
One of my references has been very busy so I am thinking of holding back to Round 2 so he has time to write a good reference letter. Or would it be much better for me to apply in Round 1 itself?
Please evaluate. Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
