If I improve my GMAT to lets say 750, would my chances at Columbia, Booth, Kellogg and Sloan increase significantly or is it just that the overall profile is similar to people in my competitive cohort?

A: It will definitely improve your chances. Your GPA is a mixed bag because it's low overall but in engineering. Hard to say how that will play out. You have to assume it's a red flag. A 750 on the GMAT would help mitigate that to an extent.

Is there anything else I can do to improve my chances with these schools as Kellogg is my first preference? With Stanford and Wharton, would I need to wait until I have more leadership experience if I want to have a shot with them?

A: At this point, there's really not much time. You can engage with the schools through events hosted by the admissions office and by touching base with alumni, professors and current students. That will help with interest, which is something Kellogg appreciates. I am not sure your experience will meet the Wharton/Stanford level, though with a 750 you can certainly throw in an application and see what happens!

Good luck,
