Hi Alex,
Thanks so much for your insightful posts here and other places in the forum. Could you please evaluate my profile?
White, Female, US Citizen, will be 27 when I apply
Chemical Engineering Major, 3.46 GPA. I put myself through school. Neither of my parents have college degrees.
740 GMAT (Q49, V42)
Work experience-Will have 5 years in health care IT. I am currently doing technical project management. I was one of very few technical staff to crossover and lead a non-technical project. I have also led a few teams varying in size from 5-10 in my time at the company.
ECs-Have been a big sister with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Was the volunteer chair for the ACS Relay for Life.
Goals-My goal is to do product management for medical devices, would like to specialize in new product development. I really like the project management roles I've had thus far, but would like to move into an industry that's more innovative and has a little more direct impact on patient care. Also like the idea of managing over the life cycle and the small business feel of managing a product. Would plan to start at a big company to gain experience and then would maybe like to start a business/join a startup.
Schools-My top choice is Kellogg. I have been looking primarily at schools with strong health care offerings/recruiting. Also plan to apply to Duke and Ross. Are these schools appropriate? Any you would add?
Thanks in advance!
