After Mr. Smith worked 8 hours to clean the garage, Mrs. Smith joined him and they finished the job in 2 hours. If Mr. Smith can clean the garage in 24 hours without the help of Mrs. Smith, how long would it take Mrs. Smith alone to clean the garage?

B. 12/5 hours
C. 7/4 hours
D. 16/3 hours
E. 17/2 hours

x= Mr.Smith rate
y= Mrs.Smith rate

10x+2y=1 job
24x=1 job

x=1/24

--->y=7/24 job/hours

Therefore, it takes 24/7 hours to do one job. A

In 2 hrs Brad did 1/12 of the job so Angelina did 2/3 - 1/12 so she will take 24/7 to do 7/12 of the job
