is x=-y?
1)
|x-0|=|y-0|
|x|=|y|
We may have: x=y (target is false) or x=-y (true) INS
2)
X and Y must have the same sign for this statement to hold true.
so, x=y -> always false SUFF

statement1: it may be the case that x=y lie on same side of zero, or x or y may lie on opposite side of origin . so this alone not sufficient.

statement2: we have the info that x and y are on opposite side of 0 on the number line but its not necessary that x and y has same magnitude. This statement alone is not sufficient.

combine:
yes, X and y are on opposite sides of 0 and have same magnitude.
Answer - C

Between Gmat Club mocks and Experts Global, I would suggest the former. The set of 15 mock tests may seem an attractive offer from Experts Global BUT pursue the quality, not the quantity.

200 students increased?
300 students for 15 days, then how many students for 10 days
Hence 300*10/15 = 200 students addition

300 students, 15 days of food
lets say each student consumers 1 unit of food= total food is 300(15)
now we have 300+x students
(300+x)(10)=300(15)
300(10)+10x=300(15)
10x=300(5)
x=150

the issue with dividing by 300/15 is that you are dividing students/days

not students by food

the proper ratio is (300 students)(z food)/day

What is the source of this question?

300×15=4500
That’s the total food
If it lasts for 10 days, it means a total of 4500/10= 450 student ate it so the addition students are 450-300= 150

D .. The max area will be 2 and so (III) is out. Min area will be close to 0. hence the answer is D

Answer is 150

I did it by assuming a value

Suppose each student eats 10 units of food per day

(300 i.e. students) (10 i.e. food consumed per day by a student) (15 i.e. total days the food was consumed ) = 45000

or we can wrire : 300x10x15 = 45000

Now a students are added and the rest of the values are constant

(300+ a) (10 ) (10i.e. the new value for total days the food was consumed) = 45000

or we can wrire : (300+ a) (10 ) (10) = 45000.................a = 150
