Jan and Mark are competing in an off-road race. Jan completes 3/4 of race in 2 hours. Mark completes 2/3 of the race in 5/8 of the time it takes Jan to complete 9/10 of the race. What is the ratio of their speeds? A. 1:2 B. 5:6 C. 19: 31 D. 27:32 E. 43: 51
Assuming constant speed

and taking distance as same for both .
Speed1:speed2 = time2:time1 (1,2 correspond to Jan and Mark)
Taking distance as d;
Speed1=(3d/4)/2 = 3d/8.
Time it takes Jan to complete 9d/10 is (9d/10)/(3d/8)=12/5.
And Mark takes 5/8 of it. i.e (12/5)5/8=3/2
Now Speed2 = (2d/3)/(3/2) = 4d/9.
S1:S2=(3d/8)(4d/9)
Ans D

ignore this line "Speed1:speed2 = time2:time1 (1,2 correspond to Jan and Mark)"

you probably are burnt out, take a step back. A break generally helps

And try not prepping from new sources before the exam, it generally takes weeks for your brain to get conditioned to new information. Just try doing mocks and revising what you already know. Avoid information overload.
