ashish_umar, Hi Ashish, I’m taking private GMAT tutoring from Jamboree Jayanagar, BLR. So far, both the faculties are good. They also have an online portal to practice. Haven’t seen anything negative in particular. I’d suggest go for Jayanagar Jamboree, if you are in BLR.

But still, have a demo class with the faculties before you enroll. So that you get to know whether you like their teaching style or not.

A lil background here. I’m re-taking GMAT. I tried Magoosh self-prep before I gave my first GMAT exam, didn’t work out well for me. Then I enrolled for CareerLauncher online live class, that didn’t help me much. Now I have enrolled for private tutoring at a different institute (Jamboree). Comparing these 3 test-prep providers, I personally like Jamboree.

Again, this is just my personal opinion. You may find some other test-prep provider best for you. As I said, try getting a demo class to know their teaching style and then take a call.

To make it square (x-2), -12 will have to be taken out from -39. Similarly, to make it square (y+3), -18 will have to be taken out from -39. So, after taking -12 and -18 from -39, only -9 is left. So, they are splitting the number so as to make quadratic equation for both x and y. I am not sure if this will help

Hey guys I’m using ttp for quant and I’m at the word problems section. My easy tests accuracy is 98% but I’m taking a LOT of time to finish and understand the medium level tests. Some questions are taking me 3 mins and some are even taking me 10 mins to finish. So far I’ve given only two medium tests and my accuracy is around 60 and 75%. Is there anybody experiencing the same thing with the ttp word problems or should I be extremely worried

How do understand what number splits should we take? I’m struggling identifying which numbers can form a proper quadratic equation

For a motorist there are three ways going from City A to City C. By way of bridge the distance is 20 miles and toll is 50.75. A tunnel between the two cities is a distance of 10 miles and toll is $1.00 for the vehicle and driver and $0.10 for each passenger. A two-lane highway without toll goes cast for 30 miles to city B and then 20 miles in a northwest direction to City C

The most economical way of going from City A to City B, in terms

of toll and distance is to use the?

(a) tunnel

(b) bridge

(c) bridge or tunnel (d) toll free highway

(e) bridge and highway

Clarifying what I think is the rephrased question (copied off another site) -

For a motorist there are three ways going from City A to City C. By way of bridge the distance is 20 miles and toll is $0.75. A tunnel between the two cities is a distance of 10 miles and toll is $1.00 for the vehicle and driver and $0.10 for each passenger. A two-lane highway without toll goes east for 30 miles to city B and then 20 miles in a northwest direction to City C.
. Which is the shortest route from B to C
(a) Directly on toll free highway to City C
(b) The bridge
(c) The Tunnel
(d) The bridge or the tunnel
(e) The bridge only if traffic is heavy on the toll free highway

The most economical way of going from City A to City B, in terms of toll and distance is to use the
(a) tunnel
(b) bridge
(c) bridge or tunnel
(d) toll free highway
(e) bridge and highway

I don't think this is a GMAT question though? Seems more like a trick question composed for another exam.

Thanks,
Sim

It is like reverse engineering the (x+y)^2 formula

Generally coefficient of x2 should be a whole square (1,4,9..) and the coefficient of x is 2*sq root coeff x2 * some other number

The constant term will be square of this some other number which can help you see how much to separate

Hey everyone! I am having trouble with this question. Could anyone anyone care to explain this Data Sufficiency Question? (My answer is C but the correct answer is D) [I dont understand why it is D]. Thanks everyone!

Beth’s bank charges a service fee on a regular checking account for each month in which the balance on the account falls below $100 at any time during the month. Did the bank charge a service fee on Beth’s regular checking account last month?

(1) During last month, a total of $1,000 was withdrawn from Beth’s regular checking account.

(2) At the beginning of last month, Beth’s regular checking account balance was $500.

Answer must be E

As we don’t have any information regarding deposits.

Both statements combined together, it’s not sufficient.

yes my bad, it is E*. Thank you. But isnt that our assumption?

on the information we are given it is like 500-1000. Are we allowed to assume that there could be a deposit in between?

We only have to answer from the information given. Can’t make any assumptions. In this case neither of the information given is complete to solve what is asked.

D

It is obvious that 12 is a multiple of itself and 4 , but it won’t be for 48
