I feel you are looking too much into it.
it is giving you an example of a sequence.
for some value n the equivalent is -4. we have the value of t1 and the formula for finding tn.
Do we need to know where the sequence ends?

it’s just there is definitely a typo [...] after tn. My mind stopped functioning after seeing that. i agree as it says AP and gave tn - it becomes solvable. But in the exam I was on denial that there could be a typo on gmat and im missing something. definitely im looking too much into it :’(

just wanted to share with you all if any of you had similar experience. I’ll try to get over it in the meantime.

i got this question on my mock, it seems like there is a typo in this question. this expression doesn’t make sense to me. like what exactly equals 23 in this question. I wasted 4 mins to make sense out of it as it was the first question in my mock. do you find this question correctly written?
when n=10, T10= T1-3(10-1)=23-27=-4 which satisfies the sequence.. So Answer is C.

Hey all! I got this question on my mock:

“k is a positive integer. When k^4 is divided by 32, the remainder is 0. Which of the following could be the remainder when k is divided by 32?
I. 2
II. 4
III. 6”

There are some solutions online that are quite difficult to understand. I get that we break 32 into 2^5 and we thus get k^4 = 2^5 * x (positive integer). If we break that further we get k^4 = 2^4 * 2x. Where do we go from here? Thanks!

Hi guys! I cant solve this question no matter what I try? do any of you have ideas how to solve it? "A certain identification code consists of 6 digits, each of which is chosen from 1, 2, ..., 9. The same digit can appear more than once. If the sum of the 1st and 3rd digits is the 5th digit, and the sum of the 2nd and 4th digits is the 6th digit, how many identification codes are possible?

Yes there is. It is called Functions and included in the Quant section and may be included in the DS though it seems DS questions are departing from being calculation intensive.
