Hi everyone, I came across an interesting discovery today and please let me know if I should post elsewhere. I found a sequence with its mean and median equal doesn’t necessarily mean this is an evenly spaced sequence. The converse is true.I. E if the sequence is evenly spaced, we can be sure its mean equals its median. I felt I needed to call out this distinction

My learning: For an evenly spaced set, the mean is always equal to the median. But not vice versa!! Take an exmaple of the set, S= ( 0,50,50,50,100), here both mean and median=50, but this set is not evenly spaced
