Is the positive integer N divisible by 12?

(1) 2N has fewer factors than 3N

(2) 3N has fewer factors than 5N

hey guys can someone explain me this question?

please?

1. This question is discussed here: https://gmatclub.com/forum/is-the-posit ... 06539.html

2. Pure algebraic questions are no longer a part of the DS syllabus of the GMAT.

DS questions in GMAT Focus encompass various types of word problems, such as:

  • Word Problems
  • Work Problems
  • Distance Problems
  • Mixture Problems
  • Percent and Interest Problems
  • Overlapping Sets Problems
  • Statistics Problems
  • Combination and Probability Problems

While these questions may involve or necessitate knowledge of algebra, arithmetic, inequalities, etc., they will always be presented in the form of word problems. You won’t encounter pure "algebra" questions like, "Is x > y?" or "A positive integer n has two prime factors..."

Check GMAT Syllabus for Focus Edition

You can also visit the Data Sufficiency forum and filter questions by OG 2024-2025, GMAT Prep (Focus), and Data Insights Review 2024-2025 sources to see the types of questions currently tested on the GMAT.

So, you can ignore this question.

Hope it helps.

Easy you can opt for two methods - Hierarchical chart or venn table. 200 cats 70 Street and 130Domestic then 30 Street cats gray and (110-30=80) domestic grey cats and finally if 80 are gray cats then remaining are non gray cats ie, (130-80)cats so the answer is 50

This question is discussed here: there-are-20 ... 20483.html
Hope it helps.
@mhir: This question is slightly different from the question you’ve posted. This says 30 are NOT domestic whereas the one you posted says 30 ARE domestic.

Which should also mean that that there are 200-70=130 domestic cats....and 30 are domestic....so 130-30 = 100 of them are Domestic but not grey

*30 are grey

But the Total numbers don’t add up! Looks like the question has a typo...and the one @Bunuel posted should be the "authentic" one

Hi, how would it be E for DS 2? Is it not C because 12% of 480 is a value that is calculable? Or is it because 12% of 480 does not give an integer value
