Hey DIII ,

Here is the thing:

I could see you have been consistent throughout the RC section but in the last mock.

This happens with everyone and this should not be a source of your worry.

I believe you should be happy with all your previous mocks and calm down.

You are all set for the exam. Just do not study alot for the upcoming days (NOTHING in the last 2 days for sure).

Make sure you just revise all the error logs you have maintained so far and learn the theory.

Calm down! Calm down and Calm down.

All the very best, Keep us posted :)

Hello all, below are my recent verbal scores.

GMAT PREP 2: V40 ( CR 37, RC 42, SC 40)
GMAT PREP 3: V40 ( CR 36, RC 51, SC 38)
GMAT PREP 4: V42 ( CR 42, RC 51, SC 41)
GMAT PREP 5: V40 ( CR 44, RC 21, SC 47) Took today.

I have my GMAT exam in a week and seeing today's RC score, I don;t understand what went wrong, two of the RCs were at the end so I was tensed about time constraints and my mind was little distracted but still I didn't expect such a bad score.

What should I do this last week of my preparation? I really want a V42, so I can't mess this up.

Can someone help me? GMATNinja
Just a quick point: something similar happened to me before I took the CAT exam for the IIMs. Just two weeks before the exam, my score went down 10 percentile points. I'm thankful for that, as I think I was getting overconfident at that stage.

What I'm seeing over here is a series of high total scores (40, 40, 42, 40), and that consistency is remarkable. The up and down in the different question formats (for example, the 21 in RC) goes both ways, because in the same test you got a 47(!) in SC and a 44 in CR. Now, what you need to keep in mind is that the GMAT is a tool to measure a test taker's ability. However, it is not (and cannot be) perfectly reliable. You need to understand this and accept it. Remember that signing up for the GMAT, or any exam for that matter, means signing up to something that is uncertain. Knowing your concepts and practicing hard before the exam can reduce, but not eliminate, the inherent variability in scores.

This little blip in RC doesn't change anything, in the same way that your 47 in SC shouldn't suddenly convince you that your SC is close to perfect. You've clearly got the ability to get a great score, and now you just need to go ahead and do it. Final point: if I were you, I might take one last GMAT Prep 2-3 days before the actual GMAT.

Thank you.
At the beginning of the test I was very tensed, so I thought I made mistakes in the beginning.
but my ESR says I made 1,1,0,5 mistakes in the parts of verbal, a total of 7, even though I was feeling confident at the final part of the verbal and was going slow because I had time left.
and V42 split up is (CR 40, SC 42, RC 47). Seems like RC was there for me after all.
