A stands.
Recent findings lend strong support to the theory that a black hole lies at the center of the Milky Way and of many of the 100 billion other galaxies estimated to exist in the universe.

I eliminated B, C and D 'coz I didn't like 'Milky Way's center'.
Also, 'and many' at the end doesn't make much sense.
In E, of a black hole lying at the center of the would have been more correct.

A

eliminate D and E immediately, we need "that" because there is a clause after "theory".

We need to maintain ||ism and require "of"

Recent findings lend strong support to the theory that a black hole lies at the center of the Milky Way and of many of the 100 billion other galaxies estimated to exist in the universe.

A looks OK.
But I'm not sure how to interpret the sentence.
How can a black hole be at here and there simultaneously?

Will go with A.

"of" is required to properly qualify balck hole with other 100 billion galaxies.

"Theory of " is incorrect

we need 'that' to refer to theory

C-> awkward, lengthy

B-> milky way's center is not preferable (passive, i think?)

A is good.

the second "of" in A still has me confused. Sorry, but none of the answer choices seem correct.
