Hi

Quite an informative forum. I am facing a peculiar problem regarding recommendations. The two persons whom I trust the most in terms of quality and weight of recommendations are:

1) My ex-boss. He has left the company we worked together for and is now a manager in another big shot firm.

2) A very senior person in my company who is getting retired this october.

So when the adcom will be reading my recos none of my recommenders would be working for the organisation I am working for. One would be retired and other would be in a different company altogether. How does this affect the weight of my recommendations ?

Please advise about the situation. Should I try and change both of my recommenders ?

Thanks a lot
