I chose A, but only after eliminating the rest of the choices. Am I the only one who felt that answer choice A borders on unreadable?

Hi,

Just wanted to add my two cents worth. The confusion over the choice "D" seems to revolve around the phrase "purchasing power" and might be due to correlating this to the words "purchasing" and "power". "Purchasing power" is an economic term referring to the ability to buy more goods/ services at a particular cost relative to some index.

Hence the fact that they have greater purchasing power simply refers to the ability. The action of them actually buying more goods and services is never referred to, and cannot be inferred logically (they can be saving that extra money).
