RiverRipper's Guide to Energy [#permalink]
I have a list of companies active in Energy(Oil & Gas/Biofuels)/Commodities
I might share it later though if anyone needed. It includes lots of non-listed companies, but which have a global presence (e.g.: Gunvor, Vitol, Cargill, etc.)

I'll chime in on the languages with a simple story. I was very excited about learning Spanish and was assigned to a Latin America Business Unit. After about a month of trying to get people to speak Spanish with me with very little success I asked my mentor about it. He told me that the managers I was communicating with were trying to improve their English. Most expats looking to move up in the company are trying to master English. So for the most part English really is the global language for energy companies.

Yes please this list. I am considering applying to Bschools with concentrations in energy or O&G to facilitate a career change to the industry. This list would help me a great deal!

Re: RiverRipper's Guide to Energy [#permalink]
For someone who owns a BS & MS in engineering and already works at at a supermajor that they want to work at for the next 30+ years , is a MBA worth it? If not, what can I do to set myself apart from the crowd? Experience is stressed a lot, but everyone accumulates that just by showing up to work (slight oversimplification)

I'm young and am not tied down by a significant other. I'd like to use this time to boost my career as much as possible.

Golly, a lot of the comments here on 'nature of the industry' aged poorly...
Has anyone done an updated view on O&G MBA recruitment post 2015 oil price crash and current COVID downturn? I noticed, for example, Exxon did not hire anyone from Booth last year.
