I am just intrigued that same breakups could lead to 2 different scores . Could someone who knows about the Gmat Scoring process highlight the reason for this . Could it have something to do with the difference in test centers .

I think the issue is since the gmat breakdown scores are rounded to a whole number, the total score can change. Think of it this way, a 45.4q 38.4V could be a 690 while a 44.5q 37.5v could be a 680.

Highwyre's response is exactly right - the scaled score numbers are rounded off. The score out of 800 is calculated based on the numbers before they were rounded off. Because of that rounding, two apparently identical scaled score sets can produce slightly different scores out of 800 (though I don't believe I've ever seen a difference of more than 10 points). It has nothing at all to do with differences among test centers.
