I dont know what is wrong with option E...Cause to me first subordinate clause in addition.....fossil, modifies Mary's contribution, not Mary herself, as A suggests.

somethings are wrong in E.

1. ...her discovering... is never correct in gmat
2. ...her discovering... and... documentation of... are not parallel

A.

Hi,

Well, sub-verb problem. Here subject is Mary leakey and not Mary leakey's contribution. As you see the sentence start from "in addition to her contribution", here her implies mary leakey and not mary leakey's contribution. So the first step is to eliminate A and B...

E is the correct answer in this case.

I think Amardeep Sharma got the reasoning correct, but eliminated the wrong ones.

'Mary Leaky's' makes it read like the work on the fossil record was done by her contributions, not by her, thus, you eliminate C,D,E.

Correct?
