Hi all,

I have been frequenting these forums for the past couple of weeks and have found them very helpful. Thank you all for the knowledge sharing.

My question is, are there any tips for identifying the subject in SC questions. For example in the following statement

While all states face similar industrial waste problems, the predominating industries and the regulatory environment of the states obviously determines the types and amounts of waste produced.

How does one determine that "the predominating industries and the regulatory environment" is the subject and not "industrial waste"?

I am really having trouble identifying the correct subject and thus am messing up a lot of the subject-verb agreement questions.

Thanks
