Re: Scored 428 in Practice, Horrible on Quant [#permalink]
Yes, you can.Start with quant basics and take sectional tests after every chapter/topic is covered.

Tip : Try to attempt all the questions in the practice test, because there is a heavy penalty for leaving questions unattempted.

Best wishes.

Hi trinx992,

To start, the Overall GMAT Score (out of 800) is scored in 10-point increments. When you say that you scored "428", are you including an IR Score (and possibly an Essay Score) in that total? What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for this practice CAT/mock?

Many GMATers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores - and during that time, 15 - 20 hours of study a week is common. By extension, if you're planning for a shorter overall timeframe - with fewer hours per week - then there will likely be a limit to how much you can improve in that time. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level - but you have to give yourself enough time to properly train before you will be able to score at a much higher level.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) What study materials do you currently have access to? What “brand” of CAT/mock have you used?
2) A 680 - 750 is a rather large 'range'; do you have a specific Score Goal in mind?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi trinx992,

As long as you study smart and follow a realistic timeline, then yes, I do think you have a shot at hitting your score goal. Just keep in mind that it will take a lot of time and hard work to get there. If you need any advice along the way, feel free to reach out. In the meantime, here are some helpful articles:
