Hii

please evaluate my profile:

GMAT: 680
TOEFL: 277
Work Exp( till date) : 3.5 years
Industry: Software
No of companies worked for(inclduing current employer) : 3
Location: India

Current Profile: Module leader(leading ateam of 5) and customer/client interaction. working with a team of huge diversity; members from different countires and cultures

Previous jobs responsibilties: Module leader, interaction with US clients, Process management.

Target Schools: Kellogg, Fuqua, CMU, UT Austin, Emory, Cornel, Kenan Flager


Community Service: working for a NGO for the last 3 years for "Pulse Polio Immunization program covering 20 districts in India" and child literacy program

College Level: Chosen University Student Association member, member and treasurer Annual festival organizing committee, Captain hockey team

Is my profile good for any of the schools that i have targetted? Please reply as soon as possible.

I am trying to register on https://www.mbagameplan.com to get my essays evaluated but i am not able to do so. Its giving me page not found error :(

I think you have a pretty good list of schools there, but what do you want to do after business school? That will be a big part of determining which schools are the best fit for you.

Still the registration link is not working:(:(

Moreover i am planning to move into consulting preferreably IT consulting. I have almost 4 years of work ex in IT. I think it should help me as well...

I encourage you to think more about your career goals post-MBA. If you're looking to stay in technology, tehn why do you need an MBA? (You don't need to convince me, but you do need to convince adcomms that you have good reasons!)

Hi Scot

While submitting the data on the registration page gives me " HTTP 500 - Internal server error Internet Explorer " :cry:

Goals:
Short Term Goal: I want to work for a big consulting firm preferrably IT consulting firm. Here i can add the learning and experience of B-schools to my work experience. But i am also open to other consulting fields such as strategies.
I want to shift to IT consulting.. I dont have any experience in consulting projects and its almost impossible to shift to a consulting firm without a MBA :( isnt?

Long Term Goal:
I want to start my own consulting firm in India ten years from now. After 10 years India will be leading the world in IT and consulting will be hugely in demand.

It's hard to get into management consulting (McKinsey, Bain, etc.) without an MBA, but you should be able to get into IT consulting without one.

My only other caution is that your background and goals sound VERY similar to those of other Indian applicants (heavy IT, "I want to start a tech consulting company," etc.). For Indian applicants, their toughest challenge is usually standing out from the pack. You'll need to put a lot of emphasis on your leadership experiences, community involvement, hobbies... Basically, everything that shows that you're more than just a techie! This will help a lot.
