I'm sorry to read this my friend. I'll suggest you the option no. 2, continue your office and study side via side..

Engage here on gmatclub discussions, purchase gmatclub tests and if you can register for course (I'll recommend knewton). You can do this, read the experiences of people and design your study plan and try to stick to that plan.

Don't think of R1. Think how you are going to go about getting a better score. It's important to get a getter score in order to improve your chances of getting admitted to the school of your choice.

I agree. There is no difference, in my mind, about applying in round 1 vs. round 2. I wouldn't apply in round 3 however. It is imperative you bring the score up before you consider investing so much time as it will take to write your essays.
