In my opinion 'One' is always used in the sentence when it has been used in the question previously. So we are left with D and E. Out of these D changes the meaning of the sentence. Hence E should be the correct answer.

"Traditionally, each other refers to two people and one another refers to more than two people, but this distinction is disappearing in modern English." From my experience, the GMAT likes tradition.

Only to each other is the one which is correct. E is the right answer.
